Nadigar Sangam President Sarathkumar, General Secretary Radha Ravi, Vice-Presidents Vijaya Kumar and Manorama, Treasurer Vagai Chandrasekar and stars including Sathyaraj, Suriya, Murali, and S.Ve. Sekar will reportedly participate in a meeting on February 27th to discuss about the much-hyped Ajith issue.
Earlier at a function to felicitate the CM, Ajith, well-known for his quick, diplomatic messages, made a very sincere request that cinema and politics should not be forcibly co-mingled. The actor also requested the CM to make a public statement that members of the cine industry should not be forced to participate in demonstrations based on political or social issues. Ajith’s sincere request was applaudec by Superstar Rajinikanth, who was seated beside the CM and the rest of the industry followed suit.
Ajith later met the Chief Minister at his residence to explain his stand, a courtesy call to clarify his earlier statement. Later, he met the press and thanked Rajinikanth for his support. Subsequently, Ajith's name was also dragged into an attack allegedly by his fans at stunt master Jaguar Thangam's residence.
